Story
My story
How I got from drawing and a camera to building spaces, systems and stories at Yazaki.
To 2021
Starting out
I started with drawing, then picked up a camera, an editor and design software. The tools keep changing, and I love learning each new one.
At Ball State I made donor stories for the Foundation on my own gear and photographed weddings on the side. I also wrote a poem that became We Are Cardinals, my most-awarded film.
2021 – 2022
Working for clients
I graduated in 2021 and started my own studio. I said yes to work I could learn from: drone films from a trip along the East Coast, video for Howden, a blacksmith’s whole brand, and a short for Yazaki that led to a full-time job there a year later.
In early 2022 I moved to Cincinnati for Black Tent and LimeLite Videos, selling video work and planning marketing for clients like Amazon Prime Air and Procter & Gamble. Marketing strategy for Black Tent’s clients, paid and owned media and what it returned, plus selling LimeLite’s video work.
2022 – now
Building at Yazaki
In 2022 I joined Yazaki full time to build spaces that didn’t exist yet. First came the R&D Playground (August 2022 to December 2023), a space that brought people back to the office after COVID. When generative AI arrived, I turned it into the AI Olympics, a fall 2023 competition for 90+ associates.
Then the Makerspace, which opened for early access in March 2024 and officially in July 2024. I built most of its systems, wrote many of the classes and taught almost half of them. Along the way I turned headshots from a dim photo room into a self-serve studio that 1,000+ employees have used.

What's next
Today I run the Makerspace and take on creative work as IM4Creative. Right now I’m building a 3D tour of the Makerspace, putting my AI image classes online, and making tools with Claude and design systems.
Next, I want to build programs and tools that keep growing after I hand them off.
